Pastor Kenneth B. Turner

You know there are Preachers, and there are Pastors, and then there's Kenneth B. Turner. Kenneth Turner is a second-generation preacher and is the youngest of 6 children born to Rev. James Elex & Carrie Maclin Turner on July 29, 1970 in Memphis, Tennessee. At the tender age of three, Lil Turner began traveling with his father in revivals singing. Often his father would have him mock & imitate some of his preacher friends, but He himself heeded to the calling on December 12, 1988 at the age of 18.

In addition to his father, Pastor Turner has been privileged to have some of the best guidance & tutelage from some of the nation’s best preachers. All, whether present or absent from the body are very dear to him still today beginning with his childhood Pastor, Rev. Jasper W. Williams Sr., Rev. JL Payne, Rev. Oris Mays, Rev. AC Ware, Rev. Cleophus Robinson Sr., Rev. Clay Evans, Bishop LW Bolton & his Pastor Dr. Frank E Ray, Sr. who he affectionately refers to as “Poppa Ray”.

At the age of 10, young Turner expressed an interest in music. Born in a family that is musically inclined, one of his brothers James Oris who is a self-taught pianist would play a single note and challenge him to match it on his alto saxophone just by listening. That God given gift has evolved into Turner being nationally known as an Anointed Gospel Saxophonist. He recorded his first CD in 1991 entitled "A Long Time Coming” and his sophomore CD Live in St. Louis entitled “Speak To My Heart” in 1994.

You know you have a calling when God gives you amazing singing and musical gifts accompanied with His anointing. Turner is a perpetual student of the word of God and is continuing his studies in biblical knowledge. He has attended and completed courses at Glad Tidings Bible Institute and is currently at Brooks Bible College as well as numerous Pastor & leadership conferences that focus on biblical studies, leadership building skills & expository teaching.

Pastor Turner currently serves as Pastor of The St. James Missionary Baptist Church of St. Louis, Mo since July 1998 in which his father founded in January 1989. His father served faithfully until his demise in June 1998. Pastor Turner has nationally notoriety and has served on numerous coalitions and boards both locally and nationally. He served as National Chairman of the Late Night Services for The RH Boyd Sunday School Publishing Board Congress, Regional vice president of The AARC (African American Religious Connection) under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Clay Evans. He also has served with the late night services of The National Baptist Convention USA since 1996.

In August 2014 Pastor Turner married his best female friend of 10 years, Lady Paula D. Dorsey. They have a blended family of four. They were the proud winners of a “$30,000 Dream Wedding” contest sponsored by The Innsbrook Corporation in Missouri.

Pastor Turner's passion is to share the word of God and to help better the lives of God's people. The word of God along with anointed instrumental praise is an awesome combination. This is the kind of worship experience that Pastor Turner displays for God and His people.
